CONCEPT

Wolfgang Buttress has been commissioned by National Museums Liverpool to provide the design concept, in the role of Creative Director for a ground-breaking new experiential exhibition about Bees.

The key message and single driver for the project is the plight of bees and the opening up of the public to their beauty, diversity and importance to our world – bees are not optional.

The exhibition will be a fast-build, modular, international touring exhibition, involving an organic sculpturally formed exhibition built environment with rich digital media, applied with new and creative experiential methods. The use of soundscaping, 3D projected visuals into mist volumes / gauzes, scent atomisers, holographics, vibrating floor panels, anechoic voids are examples of some of the applications forming the concept.

Wolfgang Buttress’ multi-sensory sculptural artworks involve unique design collaborations between science, nature, art, architecture, technology and music. A unique approach to the design approach for this exhibition has been adopted accordingly. Wolfgang’s studio are collaborating with NML and leading creatives with whom they have worked to deliver previous successful works from the field of science, technology, film and music in order to assemble the concept proposition..
