CONCEPT

Solar is an immersive, multi-sensory and site specific sculpture that celebrates and expresses the live energy of the sun.

Using a live data dream connected to the solar panels on the roof of the building, the sculpture expresses the real time energy of the sun through an ever changing and responsive fibre optic lighting system.

Suspended in the open void of Mirvac’s Olderfleet lobby, Melbourne, Australia, the development is seen as an exemplar of architectural design by Grimshaw and Carr integrating an extensive refurbishment of three heritage structures.
